A. A Milne created this book in dedication to his son, Christopher Robin Milne. With his stuffed friends inspired by actual teddies his son own.

For the longest time, I remembered the feeling of this ending but oddly enough not the imagery. A deep sense of nostalgia and sadness associated with the show even after so long. It feels as if I have lost a dear friend, with only memories to bridge the gap.

In an interview with Dr. Gabor Mate,
"If I were to choose to live my life over again I wouldn't live it in this way do you know, the end of that book would bring tears to my eyes for years Christopher Robin the little boy now has to go to school and he's telling his friends the toy animals that he won't be able to play with them so much anymore and what I wasn't aware of when I went to medical school and when I was a physician for decades is how driven I was to justify my existence in the world and we share work too hard when you're driven to work too hard you actually ignore what matters people sacrifice their playfulness their joyfulness for the sake of being accepted and being successful and all that we can all be like Winnie and Christopher, we can always keep playing in the Enchanted Forest and that's just essential I think."

Taking time to understand this was insightful. As I transition into adulthood in my early twenthies, I look back on many things I left behind, not because I want to, it was crucial. To survive in this world, to pay for your living and access better opportunities, often means relinquishing our play, or at the very least, setting it aside for a while.

Yet, it doesn't have to be this way. The misconception that we must abandon our playfulness for the responsibilities of adulthood, as Christopher did, is not a necessity. It's important to never take life too seriously and to cherish the enchanting memories of our childhood. 🧸🍯🐝
